well hi there!

i'm kristina, the artist. it's nice to meet you!

I've been doing glasswork for quite a few years now. my story is simple, i took my first intro to glassblowing class, and within about 3 seconds, i was hooked! it's like that with glass and some people. evidently, i was one of them. while i started with glassblowing, and still do that, i play around with all kinds of different glass types. you can learn more about all the various types. i'll have more info on here at some point soon.

i do most of my work at Public Glass, a nonprofit studio here in San Francisco.

my formal artist statement is more stuffy than i would like. but it's here anyway:

Artist Statement
Kristina was born and raised in Los Angeles, but it wasn't until moving to Honolulu that she discovered the mysteries of glass. Once introduced to the enchanting powers of working with hot glass, Kristina was hooked. Upon returning to San Francisco, Kristina shifted her focus to the very different style of kilnformed glasswork, which she has been concentrating on for the past few years.

Most of Kristina's inspiration comes from looking at everyday items and interpreting them in glass. She incorporates various types of glass elements in her work, creating unusual final results. And of course, experimentation always plays a big part in the creation of new work.

Kristina's passion for glass continues to grow the more she works with the medium in its various states, and looks forward to enjoying a lifetime of working with glass.
